Quick & Easy Easter Greeting Cards

Hello Again from Craft Chicks Australia!

Firstly, we’d like to wish everyone a Happy & Safe Easter!

And, as it is Easter, today’s project is Quick & Easy Easter Greeting Cards made by Little Chick.

The three cards pictured were all created digitally using Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software, the Silhouette Cameo machine, an Epson XP-850 printer, and basic card & envelope sets you can find in any craft or $2 shop.

Two of the cards have a vintage theme using images sourced from the Internet.

To create the card on the left, the image was imported into and then opened in the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software.  The image was then resized to suit the card size.  “Happy Easter” text was also added.  The file was then printed, cut on the Silhouette Cameo and then attached to the front of the pink card with double-sided tape.

For the card on the right, the image was again imported into and then opened in the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software.  The image was resized to suit the card and a pink border was added.  The file was printed, cut on the Silhouette Cameo and then attached to the cream card using double-sided tape.

The middle card was created solely in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.  An Easter egg image was imported into and then opened in the Silhouette Designer Edition software.  This was then resized, then traced and copied two times.  The eggs were then enhanced with fill patterns.  “Happy Easter” text was also added.  The file was printed, cut on the Silhouette Cameo and then attached to the blue card using double-sided tape.

All of these designs are basic, but very quick and easy to make and still very cute!

Happy Easter!

A Big Hello from Craft Chicks Australia!

Follow our journey as we start out on a new adventure - beginning a business involving our passion for craft!

On this blog we will be getting crafty, and sharing our creations with you.  We plan to write about our crafty endeavours – card making, quilting, machine embroidery, upholstery, as well as our other interests (e.g. cooking, gardening, interior design).

All About Big Chick
I have been sewing for nearly 50 years, starting in a Shirt Factory at 14 and moving onto Upholstery Sewing at 20.  I started Quilting in recent years, since gaining more free time by working part-time at the Post Office.  I also do small upholstery jobs with the help of my husband Greham.   I have also been Papercrafting for the last 7 years, beginning with Scrapbooking and moving onto Card Making.

I enjoy sewing, quilting, upholstery, card making, scrapbooking, socialising with friends, a good drop of wine, Lifestyle TV programs and reading.

All About Little Chick
I have been Papercrafting for about 12 years, starting with Scrapbooking, I became a Creative Memories Consultant for a few years, and more recently began Card Making.  I also started Machine Embroidery about 7 years ago with a little Janome Embroidery Machine.  I have since upgraded to a Brother PR-850 6 needle Embroidery Machine and absolutely love it.  I also love (and wonder how I ever lived without) my Silhouette Cameo.  I only wish I could find more time to craft!

I enjoy card making, machine embroidery, scrapbooking, shopping (especially online ... who doesn't love eBay!), photography, cooking, gardening, reading, travel, history, Lifestyle TV and crime shows.

We are both looking forward to a more creative life when Little Chick sells her current business (Augathella Post Office, Coffee & Gifts) ... hopefully sooner rather than later!  At the moment, we work Full-Time and craft Part-Time ... we would really like to be crafting Full-Time!

We aim to eventually move on to providing craft tutorials, selling craft products, as well as selling our own hand-crafted items.

Please feel free to leave comments ... all feedback is appreciated.

Bye for now,
Little Chick & Big Chick :-)

P.S. Sorry about the Profile Photo ... will have to take a new one ASAP!
