White-On-White Sympathy Card

Hello Again from Craft Chicks Australia!

Today’s post is of a Sympathy Card made by Little Chick.

I love creating cards, but it is difficult to enjoy making cards for the loss of a loved one (and, unfortunately, I have been making far too many of them of late).  Even finding inspiration for a design can be difficult ... Thank Goodness for Pinterest!  Unfortunately Sympathy Cards are a necessity of life.  I really need to get organised and create some to have on hand for those occasions when one is required ... I think that would be much easier than having to create one as needed.

Again, the card was inspired by many a Pin on Pinterest ... Thank You to all those Pinners out there!  I was inspired to use a White-On-White theme after looking through my favourite card “pins”.

It was created in Silhouette Studio Designer Software and used several files available from the Silhouette Store ... Butterfly by Silhouette and Butterfly Garden Confetti by Sophie Gallo.  The Print & Cut feature was used to create the sentiment, “With Heartfelt Sympathy”, and the font used is named Great Vibes.  After all the elements were resized, the sentiment was printed and all parts were cut on the Silhouette Cameo.  The background was dry-embossed using a Sizzix BigShot and the Couture Creations Petite Fleur embossing folder.  Some of the flowers and butterflies were dry-embossed with a swirly embossing folder made by Sizzix, and some were left plain.  The card was then assembled and “blinged” by adding white pearls as the centre of the flowers and on the back of the butterflies.

I really hope that this card brought the recipient some comfort at a very sad time.

On a brighter note, the weather here is glorious at the moment ... you would never know that dreaded Winter could strike at any moment!

Bye for now,

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Again from Craft Chicks Australia!

It’s Mother’s Day today ... and today’s card is the Mother’s Day Card made by Little Chick especially for Big Chick.

The card was inspired by many a Pin on Pinterest ... Thank You to all those Pinners out there!

It was created in Silhouette Studio Designer Software, and used several files available from the Silhouette Store ... Card Kit Flower Pot by Lori Whitlock, 3D Queen Anne Roseby Jamie Cripps, Layered Whimsy Flower – Daisy by Kolette Hall, AssortedFlowers by Jamie Koay, Plant by Silhouette and Flower Gift Tag – Hexagon byLoni Harris.

After all the elements were resized, cut on the Silhouette Cameo, and assembled; the card was “blinged” by adding a white metal butterfly, a metal dragonfly, and some ribbon.  “Mum” was written on the gift tag using Silhouette Sketch Pens in the Silhouette Designer Studio Software, and the pens were also used to write the sentiment inside the card.  The Pot envelope was cut out of Core'dinations "The Chocolate Box" cardstock, and sanded to give an embossed/distressed look.

We hope you all enjoy your Mother’s Day.

Bye for now,

It’s Big Chick’s Birthday today ... and she has a present for you all ... a free digital paper created by Little Chick.

Today’s crafty blog features the Birthday Card made by Little Chick especially for Big Chick's special day.

The card was inspired by a Pin on Pinterest ... pinned from www.mamamostamps.com.  Thank You Maureen for your beautiful design!

It was created in Silhouette Studio Designer Software and uses two files available from the Silhouette Store ... Scalloped Circles by Silhouette and Butterfly by Silhouette.

The digital paper used in the circle design was created by Little Chick using Serif Craft Artist 2 Professional Software, and is pictured below.

After all the elements were printed, cut and assembled; the card was “blinged” by adding a couple of pearls to the butterfly.

What started out as a simple design became a very elegant Birthday Card.
