The Quickest, Easiest and Tastiest Quiche Recipe!

Hello Again from Craft Chicks Australia!

Today’s blog post is one of our favourite recipes ... Easy Quiche.  It is quick and easy to prepare, and it is very tasty.  Great for a cold winter’s night with chips, or with a salad in the summer months.

The original Quiche recipe was from Little Chick's Year 8 Home Economics Class, and has been tinkered with over the years (and they have been many :-P)!

Easy Quiche Recipe

4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup diced ham or bacon
1 diced tomato
1 diced onion
1 cup grated tasty cheese
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
½ cup self-raising flour

1.      Beat eggs, then add milk and mix.
2.      Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
3.      Pour into a large, greased quiche dish.
4.      Cook on High in the microwave for 20 minutes, or at 200⁰C in the oven for 30-40 minutes (until Quiche is firm and golden brown).

Note:  This Quiche can easily be made Gluten-Free by substituting Gluten-Free self-raising flour, or Low Lactose using Lactose-Free milk.

Have a go ... it’s easy and your family will love it!

Happy Sewing Machine Day !!!!

Hello Again from Craft Chicks Australia!

Today is Sewing Machine Day, so we felt that it was about time we shared some Quilting projects made by Big Chick (aka Beris).

Sewing machines are one of man’s greatest inventions.  Without it’s invention, the process of making sewn items would be extremely time consuming and not to mention quite tedious ... each item would have had to be sewn by hand, stitch by stitch!

At one time, sewing machines were a common household appliance ... just about every home had one.  They had many uses ... including repairing clothes and linens, as well as making new items.  More recently, sewing machines have all but disappeared from the average household ... no longer considered a necessity.

Sewing Machine Day encourages everyone to get out their sewing machine (if they have one!) and dust it off, or get yourself a new or used sewing machine, and have a go at repairing or altering something, or be daring and get creative and make something new!

We hope you all enjoy
Sewing Machine Day!
(Although, according to Big Chick, every day is Sewing Machine Day!!!)
